Rudy Slatner, De Pue, when he was killed by Jap fire €n Makin island, Nov. 24, 1943, jcalled at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Slatner, last Wednesday and Thursday.The Joliet soldier received his discharge only recently from the army ^f.fter lengthy service in the Pacific.
