CALL TELLS OF SIXMONTHS ON OTHER SIDEHubert Call, who enlisted in an engineers corps along with severaliother Clinton boys, has written the following letter to his mother: Somewhere in France, Oct. 13. Pear Mother:Six months ago today we landed in J France. Don't know what you are thinking about me not writing often-er. I haven’t had a chance to write, in fact, not the time, as I have been on the move for two weeks. But I guess we are settled here for a little while.I am at the place where I have been longing to be.I met Claude Patterson and BuenaMarshall, and I am close to Decker Myles and Bob, but don’t get a chance to see them. You can tell Mrs. Cunningham on Eighth street that I have seen one of her boys. He is close to me. Gee, but it is great to meet a fellow from hoine over here. I was up to where the big ones fall. But say, those Huns don’t stay in bhe place long enough to give a fellow a fair shot, just like hunting rats. They get in touch with us once fn a while when they can’t get away.I am going to get some souvenir some of these days, looks as if I would have to hurry. Things sure do look different up here from what they did back in S. O. S. Say, we go to it, tod.You ought to have sea* Claude the day we met. He came whizzing by lit a big truck. He pulled her into the ditch and we had a good chat, and he came bac kthat evening and I went over to his room.I saw another boy from Clinton on a truck, but didn’t get to talk to him.Well, mother, I will have to close for this time, hoping to hear from you soon. Tell all inquiring friends to write, as we are busy going after the Huns. Goodbye.Yours lovingly, CORPORAL HUBERT CALL. Truck Co. No. 9, 23rd Engineers.■]1
