lirwc 1*1 4..lux —ris and McClure, who were drivers of a feWVof the 32 trucks oa the first Arctic run.All drivers on the trip were outstanding and experts in their chosen fields, but possibly one of the greatest feats of individual ruggedness was performed by , Hart, Harris and McClure, who all but shoveled their way to the ocean.These three drivers were traveling by themselves when they ran into a 1,600-foot snowdrift over the road. Rather than wait for aid, the truckers started shoveling and were nearly through the drift when the '‘Monster finally caught them and helped them through the remainder of the drift.The mentioned above were but a few of the rugged individuals who opened the Arctic for the Alaska Freight Lines winter operation. Without them and the scores of men unmentioned in this article the venture would have been doomed from the beginning.But with the success of the fni-tal operation, which greatly exceeded. all expectations, the Alaska Freight Lines and truckers, catskinnera and operators are in the Arctic again, working on an even, larger scaled operation.
