‘IN A LITTLE FIGHT’| Private First ( Ians Eugene O Moore, I'S M.C., of Sail Francisco, whose experiences in the SolomonMmake one of the war’s most thrilling stories. Trapped in his tank by 05 Japs, he fought his way out with the help of a nearby Marine sniper. The enemy had ripped open the tank's hutch, threw in grenades, set it atire and killed the other members of the crew. Private Moore was seized, hurled tothe ground, kic]ked and knifed, then pieked up and houneed off theside of his tank, and left for dead. Previously notified of his “death”,his parents received a letter from him shortly after a Itequiem Mass was said for him. In it he told of his safety, following “a littlefight.”
