COMING OUR WAY.Pietur«?H«|iio Pedentrlau Who U Ambling Toward Itloomington.Dakota Bob, who is walking from San Francisco to Now York and return in a year on a wager of 83,000 between Billy Lee of Yonkers, New York, and Joe Mills of San Francisco, ambled into town from Joliet Sunday in timo to attend divine worship, says the Pontiac Leader. Ho does hie walking on foot, whereas many of these fellows who are walking for wagers do most of their walking on freight trains and with their mouths. Dakota Kobert is the most picturesque pedestrian that over perambulated through Pontiac since the Indians moved across tho Vermillion into the “happy hunting grounds” of the dark beyond. He represents the Illustrated News of New York, and his attire affords a good conception of the typical cowboy. He is unlike the passing procession of toe and heel artists who say that they are not allowed to beg while doing their alleged walking, but proceed to hold up and take everything they want from tho inhabitants by downright plain importunity. Dakota Bob has two months to cover the distance from here to Frisco, and he will do it without much trouble if the people of Bloomington don’t bold him up as a pet too long, for the guileless denizens of McLean’s capital are apt to go wild over his long silken locks and his buckskin suit trimmed with braid, beads, feathers and porcupine ouills.
