Incident at Buena Vista.Captain Josiah Stanley, of Cass township, a veteran of the Mexican and Civil wars was in the city Tuesday and visited this office. He incidentally remarked that fifty years ago that day he was at Camp Dick Thompson at Terre Haute. In speaking of James J. Loudermilk, another Mexican war veteran recently mentioned in the Union, Mr. Stanley says he never will forget that Solomon Loudermilk, the father of Jas. I. at the opening of the Battle of Buena Vista turned to his son and said, “Now Jim we are going into it, and do not disgrace your moth-■ er.”
