Ransburg.]Scatter flowers, fragrant flowers, Where the silent warriors lie.Sing as requiems, through the hours. Soldier songs that never die. They are sleeping, oh so sweetly, Neath the grass and daisied mould. When life was rounded up completely. They were gathered to the fold. Some, of years, had scarcely twenty, When death’s bugle sounded “taps:”Others garnered years in plenty. Others now respond. PerhapsAs this veteran throng is passing. Faltering of step and white of head.Angel Death is hovering over,Recruiting armies of the dead. Some with blood have stained the greensward Of South’s sunny battlefjeld; Some have struggled back from battle. With deep wounds that never healed. And, today, in marching order,Over all this starlight land,They are passing toward the border, To rejoin that larger bandThat for years have gone before them.Discharged through valley dark and cold,Now to stand upon the ramparts Of the city paved with gold.Yes, bur army is divided With the barricade of death; But the few, here, only bivouac, Pause a moment to gain breath,When along the line will sound the Bugle-call to charge across And rejoin the sainted army,When the ranks will show no lossYes, our army is divided; Some await, and some are gone; But they’ll soon be reunited. The Grand Army still as one.flagsJulymourflagsJuly—Ihouslt;flagsJulyresteMohecourt—( flags July—Irepai Laun _pairshore—3 Mr. ja fir her i—C flags July —€ratel; are 1 perie LaPomg ced \i sky lt;stoicIncoumTrue lor a liam iy arcomrwereNoveuntilarateJanii;therehis iTheher iShehabit toxic times she than care; and 1 any ishe i or $comj for 1drenthehersonandsumfor iEach a flag we’ll wrap about him,Of the dear red, white and blue.
