385 AmericansKilled in War In \ ict Aam--WASHINGTON (UPI) - U. S. military forces in South VietNam Tuesday reported their 385th combat fatality. Battle deaths in the conflict now equal those suffered by American forces in the Spanish-Amencan War.Combat casualties, including 2,176 wounded, already had exceeded the total of 2,047 suffered by U.S. forces in the war of 1898.The 385th combat death was Army Spec. 5 Lynn W. Peters, 26, who was mortally wounded by small arms fire while accompanying a South Vietnamese convoy through guerrilla-infested territory. He was the husband of Mrs. Mary A. Peters, Alexandria, Va.
