JAPS CLAIM CAPTUREOF 500 PRISONERS(By The Associated Press)Harbin, Manchuria, May 24—Japanese troops operating against Chinese insurgent* today swept Into Hulan, about forty miles north of Harbin, and I captured 500 prisoners, three armored cars and several field guns.The insurgents fled to the northwest. The battle was fought with only minor casualties on the Japanese side, seven men being wounded.The attacking troops belonged to the division of General Hlrose operating under General Shigeru Honjo, commander-in-chief of the Japanese army in Manchuria, who arrived in Harbin ! this morning to take personal direction j of a vigorous general assault against in-! s urgent* whose operations have threatened Harbin itself.
