Jt took his mother and his grandmother their every moment of watchfulness to make sure he was spotlessty clean for the first time his lather would sec him.Two returning men, Private Wilfred Reilly, P.P.C.L.L, and Private Anthony Hryniewiecki, Irish regiment, both amputation cases, were welcomed by -their friends and. relatives in the stretcher room of the Canadian Pacific depot, and were then taken to Deer Lodge Military hospital.Mrs. Reilly had come from their home at Neepawa, Man., to greet her husband. Pte. Reilly went overseas in July, 1040, and with his unit took, part in the invasion of Sicily and Italy. Wearing the Military Medal, he explained that he had received it after the capture of Leonforte in Sicily. When asked why, he replied with a grin, Oh* not. for anything very much, mostly! because I was there, I guess.”Praises Medical CorpsPrivate Hryniewiecki, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hryniewiecki, 432 Burrows avenue, went overseas in September, 1943. He went all outin his praise for the Medical Corps in Italy. Sapper H. Dowson, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Dow3on.
