Ceres Completes Training ExerciseMarine Private First Class Lawrence W. Ceres, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Ceres of 2001 Palm, completed intensivetraining exercises April 16with the First Marine Divisions’ Seventh Regiment, 1st Battalion at Camp Pendleton, Calif.The training, called “lock-on” is designed to prepare him for duty with the Third Marine Division on Okinawa. The training included small unit tactics, escape and evasion from enemy forces andweapons indoctrination.The Third Marine Division is the sea assault force of the Seventh Fleet in the Far East.
