Suddenly there was a wild Bcream from the children and bcuh-Ing the tronble Mr. Johnnon rushed to the spot anil without removing any of hlB clothing dived Into about ten fcot of water and succeeded in getting hold of the little girl, who was then beneath the surface. With the assistance of workmen at the plant, Mr, Johnson and the child .were pulled to the dock without dilficulty and nfter a change to dry clothing neither of them felt any the worse for their experlonce.BfMr. Johnson told The News that with tho first outcry of the children he knew just what had happened. He said It la not uncommon for children to play around the boats and. docks despite repeated warnings by himself and other employees of the boat works of the danger Involved, and often times It Is necessary to pull some youngster to safety. They slip Into the water but in most cases manage to cling either-to a boat or the odge of the dock, and can be pulled to safety without difficulty.
