The busload of Hollywood personalities aod others traveling withf them left the city for Kansas City about 1:30 o’clock. ’Louis Quinn, who plays the part of a bookie in the television show 77 Sunset Strip, acted as master of ceremonies for the luncheon, which was altended. by 125 local residents. The latter included several representative young people from Joplin Senior high shcool. MacAuley regional high school and Joplin Junior col-ege. |THANKS JOPLfNITESQuinn introduced various personalities makmg the tour and thanked Joplinites attending the luncheon for the wonderful reception we’ve had here.Introduced in turn were Roger Smith of the Sunset Strip tele-vision series: Jacqueline Beer, also of the same show and Miss France in the 1054 Miss Universe competition; Will Hutchens, of the Sugarfoot television series; .Peter Brown, who plays a deputysheriff in the Lawman' series;Diane Jergens, recently starring in The FBI Story; Troy Donahue, recently starring in The Summer Place; Connie Stevens, a recording artist and star in several television series; Ty Hardein. who plays in the Cheyenne television series, and Alan Hale, Jr., who has played in many film successes.In addition to. Quinn, only three of the personalities spoke during the brief luncheon program. They were Smith, who said he appreciated the friendly spirit with which they were received in Joplin; Hale, who said he appreciated the acres and acres of smiles on their receptions all over the nation; and Miss Beer, who also thanked those attending the luncheon for their warm reception.Quinn later presented to Mayor C. C.
