^Rock^ To Become ShrineTourist Spot Is Planned For CorregidorI i I,MANILA aNS — Th€ Philippines and the United States are moving slowly to turn Corregidor, guardian rock of Manila harbor, into an interationnal shrine.U was on Corregidor that American and Filipino troops hold out against the Japanese invaders long enough to foil Japan's plan io use the Philippines as a springboard to Australia, Hawaii and control of the Pacific Far East.The effort on the ''Rock” and Bataan before that cost more than 60,000 lives by May S. 1942, when Gen.
