for Lt.Memorial services will be held Sunday afternoon, May 6, at 3:00 o’clock at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran church. Twenty-seventh and St. Charles road, for Lt .Henry Schneider, who was killed in action on March 20, 1945 in Germany.Lt. Schneider was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schneider, 317 Twenty-sixth avenue, and husband of June (nee Forsyth). He had been in service since Feb. 17, 1941, being overseas since March 1944. He was serving with Patton’s 3rd Army. For outstanding courage and leadership he had been promoted from S/Sgt to 2nd Lt. and was also awarded the Bronze Star.Surviving, besides his wife and parents are his six month old son, James Henry; brothers, Alex of Portland, Ore., Pfc. Fred also with the 3rd Army; sisters. Amelia Backkus and Sophie o Bell wood, and Lydia Kattro oi Cicero.
