Bobby Humphrey, Columbus High, and Charlotte Paflher, Still more High.Public Elating Places Begin Rationing of Sugar To Customers—Thomasville began to feel the full effect of the sugar rationing program today for the first time as public eating places began a rationing system to the customers*Gone are the old-fashioned sugar bowls which have adorned the tables in restaurants, hotel dininp rooms and cafes down through the-years, and only the salt and pepper shaker are to be found, items to which the. customer still has full access. But those persons with a ‘sweet tooth’ find their sugar ha* ‘gone with the wind.'The customer is served with his coffee or tea a neatly packed bit of sugar, measuring in most instances a teaspoon and a half. And while the system has definite advantages to the commercial purchasers, it offers its disadvantages in packing and in serving to the customer.
