After the first train completes its run, subsequent trains will run in each direction thrice weekly.Hie 40-hour run; the longest scheduled passenger rail trip in liberated Europe, will afford combat officers and enlisted men an opportunity to trade the muddy foxholes of Germany for the Palm-lined promenades and luxurious hotels of Nice and Cannes, which heretofore they’d only read about.The train starts near the northern end of the American front and stops to pick uf GIs at points en~ route to the Riviera.One hundred hotels at Nice, Can nes, Antibes and Monte Carlo have been rehabilitated for the soldiers by French civilians, and18.000 officers and enlisted men can now be accomodated.
