Joseph W. Droll Is Hade SergeantJoseph W. Droll, son of Mr* and Mrs. Joseph F. Droll, of 127 Market street. 1ms been promoted to the evade of sergeant in Lhe U. S. Army in Africa.lie is a graduate of the St. Mary's school and the Annapolis High School.At the beginning of the war he was a member of the Special Military Police force appointed by Gov. Herbert R. O'Conor serving for three months. He resigned and entered the regular army in August, 1942.Following his basic training he was sent to the Army Electrical Radio School at Trux Field. Madison. Wis. and graduated as a radio mechanic.In letters to his parents since he was overseas in Africa he has told of meeting CapL Frank H. Thompson, 3d T Liuet. Thomas ijewnes and Staff Sergeant John Allen Coughlin, all of Annapolis. He said it. was unusual to meet three An-napolitans so far from home, as some of his fellow soldiers had served as long as 21 months without meeting any one from their home towns.fcreofillalviG
