Cain Praises _iTurk TroopsWASHINGTON* March 19 (AP)— Sea. Harry p. Cain (R-Wash.) saysthat what Turkey has done in Korea ought to make a score of nations ashamed of themselves.In a Senate speech demanding that United Nations members give greater support to the Korean war, Cain declared:Turkey has less reason to participate in the war in Korea than a , score of nations I could mention. j “Turkey sits right on the boundary of .Russia. Turkey had a right to say ‘our national interest Is here. Our fear of the Soviet is supreme.We are not, nor have we been permitted to become a member of the Atlantic pact, and therefore have no deep-seated obligation to the nations which are fighting in Korea.’“Turkey said no such thing. Turkey has sent to Korea some of the finest fighting men this world has ever known.“If every nation among the 53 nations which signed the resolution calling for the stopping of an aggressor had done what Turkey hasdone, the war already would beover.
