But after opening the letter and reading of poor little sister’s death it nearly killed me—poor little sister, whom I thought the world of is taken away and I shall never get to see that sweet face again. If I could only have seen that face once more. I am worried almost to death to think I am away down here; bless her dear little heart just begining so she couldtalk plain, but God’s will be dooe I guess.I am in the jungles now but I can get my letters anyway. I know it Is hard for mother, but I hope she will get all right, and also the rest of the family. ,Sister I sure would love to be at home now. If I ever did get home sick in my life it is now. If the folks were only well I’d feel all right, but I’m in the army you know to help fight for our country, the good old U.S. A. so I want to do my best for the stripes.Bnt if any thing ever happens to mother I’ll never come back to stay, unless on a visit but never to stay, but I’ll see that you will get along but I do hope all will get well. Now sister I want you to treat mother like a mother and never talk back to her because you don’t understand what a mother is but I sure do and you would too if you were so far away from, her for I know what mother is now.* X could hardly eat my supper, whlc^i ^ didn’t much after reading your e|i}letter.
