He joined the Marietta faculty in1959Carl Wolfe, Meigs basketballcoach played college basketball under Kelly at Marietta and was the second top scorer in the history of the collegebers include Joe Myers, Jack Robinson, Jeff Tyo, RichardHaggerty, Dan Smith, Doxie Walters, Dennis Ault. Bill Hen-sler, Bob Werry. *Reserve members include Jon Kloes, David Haggerty, RickVan Matre. Dennis Boggs, Rick Werner, Jim Wildermuth, Mickey Childs, John Sebo, Wayne Well.Bill Childs was master of ceremonies for the evening. The invocation was given by Supt. George Hargraves. InOthers recognized were Dale Swift and Randy Becker, man-a g e r , Lois Sauer, Brenda McGuire, Kenda Chaney, Sandy Zerkle, Sheila Childs, Kathy Morgan, Linda Cardillo, Diane Knorr, varsity cheerleaders.Reserve cheerleaders — Debbie Crow, Mary Bradbury, Kathy Moore, Becky Swindell; and cheerleaders coach Joy Bentley. Guests included the seventh, eighth and ninth grade squads.Kelly pointed out that inspiration from parents, other athletes, and coaches, is what makes a valuable player in any kind of sport including basketball. He commented that clean living, trust, and prayer will help any player to succeed.lie had for his topic, “What is the new morality? and listed the important of communications between students and the home, coaches and the school faculty and administration, in the making of good ball teams.
