In the extra period they couldn’t score at all.There wasn't really anything that made the difference. You can't point to anything in a game like that. We just didn't score on the last possession, there was nothing profound about this game.BVT YET there was a difference-his name was Nolan Robinson. The sophomore shredded the Spartan defense for 33 points, including all six in overtime, with a collection of baseline jumpers and fast break layups past the Spartans press. The Spartan 2-3 zone seemed tomake no special provision for the 6-4 forward.“We're not going to change now, Lawhead said. “We felt we had to keep the pressure on and not do something special on Robinson since they also have Rex Adams on the other side. The scouting reports said he was tough but he was even better “ Although the Spartans never took the lead, the score was tied repeatedly as both teams traded buckets throughout the final period. After a Willard timeout the incredible happened when Robinson traveled, turning the ball over to the Spartans with eight seconds remaining and a final chance to take the lead,The Spartans refused to call timeout to set up a final play. The Spartans attacked but turned the batl over with one second remaining.throwing the game into overtime.BOTH COACHES heaped praise when asked to rate their opponents.
