The poor gentleman, after scolding the children, severely, went home and put it on the radiator to dry.He soon felt sleepy and decided to read onh is favorite subject, ‘Chivalry.’' He got out his big red book that he had read about twenty-one times. He | sat in front of the fire reading faster and faster as the story grew more exciting and his eyes bulged out farther and farther when the story ended.Now he was sleepier than ever. He was asleep. He was riding a white hcrse and strange as it might seem, was wearing a tal silk hat. He herad the tramping of many hoofs and glancing behind him saw lots of horsemen riding after him as fast as they could.Now they were almost to him. They had caught him! What was that purring noise close to his feet?“Why,” opening his eyes, it’s my white kitten.”He was awake and at home. . His book was still open to the place where the knight had been chasing the enemy and had caught them. Oh! Ir was good to be at home again!
