Sobel, Jewish Chaplain in Thailand, was killed Thursday in an automobile accident on a road from Bangkok to the airport, the Commission on Jewish Chaplaincy of the National Jewish Welfare board learned Friday.Chaplain Sobel 28, was the son of Mr. Mrs. Charles R. Sobel, West Hartford, Conn. A graduate of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, he was assigned as chaplain in Thailand last fall.He graduated from Dartmouth College, N.H., in 1968.
