We are happy to receive them and will publish as many as is practical.The W i s consin State Journal's E dura tion or Expulsion stand has been stated and this is the public's day to soundBut as a footnote to the matter, we'd like to comment on protests on other campuses in general and one at UCLA in particular.A small band of anti-Vietnamwar demonstrators was protesting job interviews conducted by a representative of the Dow Che mica! Corp. last week. A disturbancebroke out after the interviews wereconcluded when a campus policeman escorted out a small numberof students who were staging a sit-in in the placement center.The campus police chief said that seven students had agreed to leave the building only on condition thatthey he escorted out.They were told they were not arrested. the chief said. There was no intention to arrest them.'Yet when they left the building, three of the students climbed intoa campus police car parked nearby. University officials and other spectators agreed that this action convinced many of the 150 spectators that the students had been arrested.One protester then climbed on the police car and gave his personal opinion of the police and the university a d 111 i n i s tratlnn. whichwasn't too favorable. The chiefthen told the three students to gel out of the police car because they were not arrested. As they left,some protesters claimed a victory because their arrests had been nullified.Such provocations are staged on campuses here and there and university administrations must be ready to deal with those whichdeliberately break regulations and disrupt the educational opportunity flt;r the main student body,
