FATE OF FRENCH LINER.Crew Now in Kenya.MELBOURNE. March 7.—The former L French Mwwagerirs Maritime* liner »utl Commlaaaire Ramel (10.061 tons* which *P« left Australia in September bound for on Great Britain, has been lost by enemy Adr action. The 8haw SAvill and Albion Line, iotr which was the Australian agent for the j thaship, has received cabled advice from nftVLondon that the ship is Icng overdue thel and must now be assumed to have been i loat by enemy action.Further information was received today when a cable message from Kenya Colony stated that all officers and crew of the ship had been detained as prisoners of war. but had now oecr. landed at Killndlnl. a small British port in East Africa near Mombasa All are reported to be well. The message gives no indication as to how the men. who had apparently been prisoners on an enemy raider, got to British Territory.The master of the Commissaire Ramel was Captain Roderick Mackenzie, who was well known in Melbourne as commander of the passenger Uner Esper-ance Bay for many yearsShaw 8avll] officials state that members of the crew probably will remain in Killndlnl until the middle of the month.
