Yesterday morning orders were issued by Brigadier-General Miuiot to make a reconnoiasance towards the enemy’s quarters, stationed near Woodstock, Virginia.Major Henry A. White, First Major of the Thirteenth Pennsylvania Cavalry, was placed in command of a smallforce for the purpose, and commenced at an early hour in the morning to prosecute his duty. Proceeding towards Strasburg, about five miles from Winchester, the Major selected a leVel open held, in which he moved his force, and there oiosely inspected his men, their equipmentsfnd weapons. Finding matters to his satisfaction, the march was continued without the least possible delay, and upon approaching Strasburg the Ma|irespied a number of the Bebei Cavity, whom he drove precipitately Into their^pm camp, near Woodstock.The Major then left Lieutenant John S.
