Soldier Killed In VietThe death of a second Morgantown area serviceman in less than one week has been reported by the Defense Department.The latest casualty in the war in Vietnam was identified as Sp4 John Randy Tennant. 20. the son of Mrs. Edna Headlee Tennant of Rt. 2, Fairview and the la'tc John S. Tennant.Spl Tennant was reportedly killed in action on Feb. 26 when his outfit—operating about 20 miles from Saigon—was struck by mortar fire.Born July 24. 1948. he was a 1966 graduate of Clay-Battelle High School. He entered the army in April, 1968, and had been serving in Vietnam less than two months when he was killed.Survivors, in addition to his mother, include a brother. James Ross Tennant, at home, and a sister. Mrs. Ted Moore of Rt. 2, Fairmont.The body is now being sent home from the war zone. Curry Funeral Home in Fairview will be in charge of funeral arrangements.Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. (Buster) Nowell of Clark Street were notified early last week of the death of their son.
