DeDyckerservicesscheduledServices will be in Dahl Mortuary in Bozeman at 10 •a.m. Thursday for former Montana Highway Patrol Capt. Ernest DeDycker. 57. former Butte resident who died of a heart attack in Bozeman Mondav.wDeDycker was born in Butte April 25. 1920. and was educated there He entered the Army Air Corps in 1941 and returned to Butte in 1945. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for service in the Pacific Theater as atailgunner.He married the former Viola Owens in 1942 in Las Vegas. He was a bartender at the Atlantic, Terminal and Wigwam bars in Butte.He joined the highway patrol Oct. 1, 1950. and was a driver examiner in the Butte office from 1951 to 1964. He was a sergeant in the Bozeman area and in Miles City. After his promotion to captain, he was assigned to Billings.He then transferred to the Helena patrol headquarters and headed safety and communications function. He th£n served in the Missoula division and retired fromthere May 5He was a member of the Elks.Survivors include his wife. Viola, son and daughter-in-law. Mr. and Mrs Maurice DeDycker, and grandson. Jimmy, all of Bozeman; brother, Clarence, and sister, Lorraine Hayden, both of Butte.Burial will be inBozeman
