Erling Anderson, 22, was killed in action in Vietnam Thursday with his unit, the 173rd A i r-borne Battalion, relatives here been informed. The unit was on patrol in the vicinity of Dakro north of Pleiku w h e n attacked,A report of his death under 'ire by the North Vietnamese n an ambush was sent to his ivife, the former Janice Jojbn-on, 709 Dodge St., Eau Claire, ind his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin A. Anderson, Rt. 4.Pfc. Anderson, a 1953 gradu-i ate of Mondovi High School, aad been in the farm implement business with his father at Hilltop Tractor Farm before entering service Oct. 6, 1966. He vas sent to Vietnam April 9 of his year. The last letter h i s -vife received from him was aostmarked June 15. They have io children. She is the daugh-.er of Mr and Mrs. Oscar 01-on, Rt. 4. Pfc. Anderson was aorn in Strum Jan. 5, 1945.Survivors, in addition to his vife and parents, are two arothers, Steven and Dean at iome;. two sisters, Mrs. Davidlt;ittelson, Springfield, Minn., Mrs. Barbara Powers, Eau Dlaire; and a grandfather, El-vin Odegard, Rt. 2.Military services are being planned by the Kjentvet and Son Funeral Home here uponhe return of the bodv from*/ietnam in from seven to 12 lays.
