We are on duty here as a part of Gen. Abercrombie’s Provisional Brigades, guarding the base of applies.We are not tit for the lielJ. Our recruits know scarcely anything of the manual of arms, and but little of anything else of military.While we remain here our every day life will be monotonous and our letters dull.We have thirteen men on the 6ick list.“Brevity is the soul of wit.”Your correspondent certainly possesses one of the attributes of wit.
