Albert E. DeCurtins, 25, aprisoner of the Japanese since the fall of Bataan, who died in an internment camp in the Philippines, June 1.6, 1943. accoiding to a telegram received here Tuesday by his parents, Mr, and Mrs. F, A. DeCurtins.The telegram is as follows:'‘Report now received from theJapanese government thru the International Red Cross that vour son. Private First Class Albert E. DeCuilms who was previously reporter! a pnsoner of war. died on 16th of June in Philippine If land s. The societal y of war shales our grief and extends his deep sympathy. Letter follows.Albert DeCurtins was inducted into the Army Feb. 5. 1941, and secured his training at FI. Knox, Ky. He was a member of the 192nd Tank Battalion which, using small tanks that are now obsolete, destroyed many Jap tanks in the fighting on the Philippines. On Oct. 12, 1941. he left Celina, after a fui lough here, for the last time and went to the Philippines,On Mav 19. 1942. he was reported missing in action. buL on Jan. 23, 1943, was identified as a pnsoner of the Japanese somewhere in the Philippines.
