This End .WASHINGTON, June 20—UP) —France got word from congress today she can send a ^thank you train'* to the United States if she wants to, without running into customs trouble.Reports from Paris recently said the French wanted to send such a train to this country fill-led with champagne, laces and other things France is noted for.The idea was to make the rounds of American cities as the “Friendship Train* did in France ana say “thank you” for the' food Americans sent the French, vTrouble devel oped though. The goods would be subject to duty charges — payable in dollars. And the French are very short of dollars right now.Also the state department, officials said, figures it would be very embarrassing” if the “thank you train’1 arrived in this country beset with customs troubles.Senator Millikin (R-Col) introduced a resolution in the senate last night at the request of the state department to straighten everything out.
