ShaferFuneral Service for Former Harmony Woman Held from First Methodist Church of Salisbury— Interment in Chestnut llill Cemetery.Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Dcarman Shafer, of Salisbury^ daughter of Mr. C. A. Dearman, of this county, were held this morning at I t o’clock from t'ho First Methodist i church of Salisbury, conducted by Rev, W. A, Newell, and interment was in Chesnut Hill cemetery there.Mrs. Shafer died at the Oteen hoa-pital, where she had been under treatment for the past five years, Sunday morning about I o'clock. She was a nurse in France during the World War and, during ‘her service there, was gassed while working with wounded soldiers.Mrs. Shafer is survived by her husband, Dr. I. E. Shafer, of Salisbury; two sons, Irving and Frank; her father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Dearman, of Harmony; abrother, Mr. C. H. Dearman, of thiscity; and a sister, Mrs. Fred Nash,of Charlotte.Burial this morning was with military honors.
