Flag Day Ceremony Held At Elks HomeFormal observance of Flag day was held Sunday afternoon at the Elks home on South Fourth street, with Lee Moore, exalted ruler of^ the lodge, presenting a large flag^ to the West View playground. 1 k The program, originally iched-uled at Mctntlre park, wsi cut short because of rain and was ccn-tinued at the Elks home.)t More than 500 persons had assembled at the park before the rain fell. The Zanesville Memorial band, directed by Paul A. Kem, played a brief concert before the h downpour put an end to the out-lg door activities.Is Myrl Shamp, municipal playground supervisor, made the acceptance speech in behalf of the y, West View playground.•e This ceremony also featured the it presentation of a vase to Robert E. Kennedy, state commander of the United Spanish War veterans, t* by Ralph Cosgrave, chairman of )- the program committee. Mr. Ken-,d nedy was scheduled as the Flag it day speaker. The~vase was pre-id sented through the courtesy of j. Fenwick Clement, president and it general manager of the Hosevllle :o pottery.h In the club rooms selections were n presented by the Elks quartet eom-I pocsed of Leo Durkin, Harry Moore, Harold and Alva Richardson.r-
