NEW ENGLAND GIRLS IN TELEPHONE UNIT*4 Switchboard Soldiers''Ready to Proceed OverseasDtnpatch to the Globe1 NEW YORK, June 16-The Signal Corps telephone operators, having completed their special training for service in France, where they will operate the switchboards in the telephone syBtem built for the American expeditionary force, are ready to sail whenever ordered.This unit of “switchboard soldiers” is !headed by Miss Seneva M. Marsh of De-;troit, as chief operator, and these fivesupervisors: Miss Beatrice P. Boumeuf,Haverhill, Mass; Miss Beatrice Franc-fort. New York; Miss Eleanor Poppock, North Seaton, Wash; Miss Eileen Munro, Washington, D C, and Miss Mary E. Vannier of Helena, Mont.There are 60 operators in the unit. Sixteen of the young women are from California, 13 from New York, 11 from Washington, three from Rhode Island, four from Massachusetts, two from Utah, two from Michigan, two from Canada and one each from Illinois, Pennsylvania, Montana, Oregon, New Hampshire and Washington, D C.The following women are members of tne Signal Corps telephone unit;The Misses Charlotte Anderson, Bertha Arlaud, I-ouise L.
