Rose A. CastagnoloRose A. Castagnolo, 78, of 823 Dorey St., Clearfield, died Tuesday, June 9, 1998, at her residence.Born Jan. 20, 1920, in Clearfield, she was a daughter of the late Pio and Mary (Mandolia) DiSalvo.Mrs. Castagnolo was a homemaker, a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, and a member of the church’s Altar and Rosary Society.On July 31, 1939, in St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, she married Joseph A. Castagnolo, who survives.In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children, Rosemary McMasters and Joseph M. Castagnolo, both of Clearfield, Antoinette “Toni” Castagnolo of Arlington, Va., Susan Roessner of Binghamton, N.Y., and Caroline Castagnolo Shanahan of Boca Raton, Fla.Also surviving are six grandchildren, Michael, Mary Beth, Erik, Ryan, Stephen and Margo Arizona; four sisters and a brother, Margaret Marino and Virginia J. Czarnecki, both of Clearfield, Mrs. Gerry (Joan) Magistrella and Mrs. Thomas (Mary) Mullen, both of Clarion, and Pio DiSalvo of Detroit, Mich.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl J. and Charles “Buster” DiSalvo.Mass of Christian Burial will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church Friday at 10 a.m. with Fr. Dennis C. Hadberg as celebrant.Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.Friends will be received at Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, on Thursday from 2-9 p.m. and on Friday from 9-9:30 a.m.The rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Clearfield Hospital “Heart of Our Valley” capital campaign, to the Cancer Treatment Fund, PO Box 992, Clearfield or to the ClearfieldFoundation for Health-Hospice, PO Box 992, Clearfield.
