Frankfort, June 5.Mr. Thomas Gill, a young gentlemanj belonging to Capt. Dudley's company of j Volunteers from this place, (the same 1 mentioned in Capt. Ds letter as being; wounded, and supposed lobe killed) arrived in this place on Thursday last. He I was taken by the Indians and carried to * Malden, where he was purchased by Coi. Elliot tor a silver half-moon and some whiskey. He informs that he caine a-cross the Lake from Malden to the mouth ot Huron river with 6t other prisoners ' who were taken by the Indians on the 5th 1 u.t. From the best estimate which | couid be made 30 of our unfortunate | men were yet with the Indians ; they set 1 so high a price on some of the prisoners' ‘ that purchasers cannot be found. Mr. Gill informs us that the British forces, regulars and some militia (except about 60 left to keep garrison at Malden) were dispatched to Fort George, immediately, on their retiring from Ft. Meigs ; so that.1 the present force at Malden is very tri-fling, the Indians having retired some *- distance above Detroit. It is said five or six of the prisoners taken at the River Raisin, on the 22d of \ January last, were at Detroit—two were i coming in ; but who they were, or lt;where from, we cannot learn.
