Under the provision of the 11th Section of the Act to raise ten thousand troops, ratified May the 8th, 1801, the Commander-itt-Chief of the Suite orders that all the duties pertaining to the Quartermaster and Paymaster General's Department, to the Commissary General of Subsistence Department, and to the Chief Ordinance and Engineers, will bo under the direction of the respective beads of those branches of the Military service appointed under the above law, and that all the public property and funds will be turned over to Col. L. O’B. Branch, Quartermaster and Paymaster General; to Col. William Johnson, Commissary General of Subsistence, and to Col. Jas. A. J. Bradford, Chief of Ordnance and Engineers, or officers of their respective deportments duly detailed by them to receive and receipt for the same.The duties of the Adjutant and Inspector Generals Department will be divided as follows: Those to the Volunteers and Militia will be under the direction of Brig. General John F. Hoke, u Adjutant General of North-Carolina,” under the Act known as the “Militia Law,” ratified February 20th, 1801, and those pertaining to the State Troops under the direction of Lieutenant Colonel Richard II, Riddick, “Assistant Adjutant General of thfr State Troops of North-Carolina,” under the Act to raise ten thousand Troops, ratified May 8th, 1801*II. All requisitions ibr clothing, camp andr garrison equipage, forage, stationary, transportation, fuel, quarters and working tools, will bo made ?upon the Quartermaster’s Department; toy subsistence,.upon the Subsistence Department, and for ammunition, arms, accoutrements and other ordnance stores .and property, upon the Chief of Artillory and Ordnance.All communications other than the above, except applications for office, will bo addressed to;the Adr jutaot General of North-Carolina, in referencerto Volunteers atfd Militia, and to the “ Adjutant General State Troops,” in reference to the }4State Troops of North-Carolina.”WARREN WINSLOW, .Military Secretary;By order of the Governor. , t i.JkR'HOKEp \ Adjutant General.
