Navy Releases New Casualty ListUNITED States Navy Casualty list No. 4, released today, named five Kern countymen as missing in naval action during the period between April 10 and May 10. The local men, three of them from Bakersfield,were muonc .101 California men listed by the navy department as “missing in action.”They are:LIEUTENANT ROY DEL GILBERT, son of Mrs. Ella C. Gilbert, 1820 Truxtun avenue. Bakersfield.STAFF SERGEANT ROBERT F. |RYAN, brother of Mrs. Nellie F. Norris of Tal't, a marine corps ser- j geant. ICorporal Iaonard Roy Corbin, son jof Charles W. Corbin, Arvin, a marine corps corporal. jCarl Ellis Barnes, son of Mr. and j Mrs. Claude E. Barnes, 1833 Lake street, Bakersfield, a navy water i tender.Norman E. Bussell, son of Mr. and | Mrs. James Bussell, Bakersfield, a navy assistant cook.The navy department did not release details of action involving any of the men, and it was taken for I granted men on duty in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters were included in the casualty list. Among the Californians listed were 9 dead, 13 wounded, and 361 missing.
