Lloyd R. Williams, State Home Graduate, Given CommissionLloyd R. Williams, a graduate of the State Orphans homo In Corsicana, has received a battlefitrtd promotion from the. rank of technical sergeant to the rank of second lieutenant in the 36th Infantry division.Lt. Williams received hs commission for having proven defnite leadership ability combat. During the invasion of Italy, he was seve-erely wounded in the foot, but continued to lead his platoon through enemy fire for more than a mile inland before he was forced to be evacuated due to the seriousness of l\is wound. Fully recovered Lt. William* returned to his company a few day* before the Rapido River crossing and again displayed outstanding leadership ability under very dire circumstances.Lt. Wlllinms enlisted In the Texas National Guard May 1, 1935, re-enllsted August 1, 1938 and 1ms served continuously with the 36th Infantry Division since that time.Lt.
