SwangrenMemorial services for Captain Roy Swangren will be held Sunday, July 29, at 2:30 p.m. in the First Presbyterian church of Maywood, 5th avenue and Pine street.; Captain Swangren, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Swangren, 614 South6th avenue, was killed over Eng-Captain Roy Swangrenland while on duty with the 8th AAF on March 22 of this year when a flare gun exploded and set fire to the 3-24 Liberator bomber in which he was returning to base while completing his 35th mission over enemy territory.After being commissioned a lieutenant-n a v i g a tor at Hondo field, Texas, he was sent overseas in August, 1943, his crew being assigned to the 392nd bombardment group, which soon became the leader of the 579th squadron. In June of 1944 he received his captaincy and promotion to the post of squadron navigator. Machine Works in Chicago.He enlisted in the army air forces in February of 1942.In addition to his parents he is survived by a brother, Ensign Donald W. Swangren, now stationed in Jacksonville, Fla., and asister, Ardith V. Swangren.
