J. 5. JustusA Silver Star Medal has been awarded, posthumously, to Staff Sergeant John S. Justus, infantry squad leader in the 43rd Infantry (Winged Victory) Division on Luzon, for gallantry in action displayed in pointing out enemy positions to friendly tanks when radio communications were knocked out by enemy fire. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Justus, 2614 Glos street, Bellwood.Sgt. Justus, with utter disregard for his own safety exposed himself to enemy fire in order to point out enemy positions to the supporting tanks. While directing the tank crews, Sgt. Justus was killed by an enemy mortar shell. Sgt. Justus' valor wasresponsible for the liquidation ofthe enemy positions by thetd,nkslt; ^The citation reads: “Sgt.
