Ritchie Sunday, July 28What 'will' probably be the last encampment of the Maryland StateGuard will h* beld at Camp Ritchie,Cascade, July 28 to August 4..Local flnits will leave from the Armory here on Sunday morning traveling in trucks. When the men arrive at Camp Ritchie they will be instructed to turn back watches one hour as the camp will operate on standard time. Local units, as well as those from Cumberland, will be in command of Lieut. Col. Crown Diehl, this city, in command of the Eighth Battalion.Barracks, mess hails and other installations at the modern camp will be used by the Guardsmenwho will total about 1,500 from all over the state. Firing on the range will take place Monday,. Tuesday and Wednesday.A feature of the encampment will be the celebration of “Governor’s Day” on Saturday, August 3, when there will be a parade and review. Governor O'Conor and other dignitaries and State officials will be present to review the soldiers, zatton. about Jan. 1, this will prob-The Guardsmen will have use of the splendid facilities at Camp Ritchie which were improved and enlarged by the Regular Army when the reservation was used by he Intelligence Department.
