BEAUMONT, Texas, July 23. (SNS)~Hearings of the Dies committee on un-American activities,which have been held in Texasfor several weeks, were postponed today while subpoenas were issued for a group of Texas Communists mentioned in minutes of a Fort Worth party meeting last May.The committee’s original plans to return to Houston have been changed and it is uncertain when farther hearings will be held there. Secretary Robert Stripling said. First set for today, the Houston sessions have been postponed to next week, it was reported from another source.Meanwhile, a direct development of the committee’s investigations came when Gerhard Stubbeof Houston, member of theKyffhaeuser bund, announced that the organization would be dissolved because of publicity which have caused its members embarrassment.“The members want to point out that the dissolution is not an admission of guilt but shows an earnest desire to maintain peace and order in the community,” said Stubbe.“The Dies committee has been informed of this action and we continue to be ready to assist the committee whenever possible, in our capacities as individuals,” the spokesman for the German-Amer-ican organization said.
