Bethany Citizens Charged With Sed iti ous U tt ;e ranees.J. W. C. Haupe, merchant, and J. P.? Gryder, farmer, of Bethany township were given a hearing', before United States Commissioner Lazenby yesterday afternoon on charges of disloyal talk and especially advising*' registrants hot to respond to the dr lift. Charles Gryder, a hon of J. P. Gryder, was also tried for disloyal talk.A number of witnesse were examined and all of the afternoon was consumed in the hearing.' Jloupe and J. P. Gryder were required to give $4,000 bond each and Charles Gryder $1,4)00 bond for their appearance in .Federal court.Andrew Ball, white, of Turnershurg township, has given bond to appear before Commissioner Lazenby duly0 7 1* ito a n s we r 1 \ c h a 1 * go o f fa i 1 u r e to r e g i s -ter under the draft act.
