Hr. Le Cou Man In Honours ListCaptain John WallaceThomas of Vancouver whowas awarded the Order of the British Empire in the recent birthday Honours list is a native of Harbour Le Cou, on the southwest coast. This is the third time during the war he has singled out in recognition of bravery and service.Captairf Thomas has four brothers; George at North Sydney; Arthur and William sailing captains out of Vancouver, and Hubert, • the youngest brother doiftg a large business at Hyde, Alaska; two sisters living at home, Elsie and Dinah.John went with the C.P.R. as deckhand and stayed with that company until he was made captain of the flag ship of the Pacific. When war broke out the Admiralty tookover his ship on October 10, 1939, and since that time Captain Thomas has had only two weeks vacation.
