The canteen will be under the direction of Miss Mildred Forstmann who has been made Canteen Chairman of the local Red Cross. She will be assisted by the local Canteen Corps which is composed of 28 women. The Corps has been divided into four groups and the groups will take turn® in serving, one group serving each week end.netothoftotchiJMfcUGftIV4;tisibIVT• ♦fiirThe Canteen is located at Second and Jefferson streets and has been attractively decorated in patriotic colors, a great deal of the labor in getting the building in condition was donatedr and -practically all of the equipment was donated or the use of it lent to the canteen as long as , it remains open. The canteen women supplied the draperies and fixtures which make the place most inviting.The object of opening the Canteen is to give the service mqn who comes into, our town a glace to 20 , where he may get- a blt of home cooking without cqst. The .plan is to serve home made cakes or pies; chicken in sandwiches or as salad; ice tea or lemonade, cigarettes, etc. Donations of. any of these things, or any home cooking suitable for light lunches will be most acceptable. Call Miss Forstmann, 930 or the Red Cross office,” 1687, stating what you would give and wheiv it would be available.
