An effort is belief made to reach the family of ev- j ery man in Texas who is entitled to this distinguished recognition, in the hope that all may be given a place of honor. ^ In a letter addressed “to tJfe1 families of Texans who gave tholr-lives in the World War,” Dr. , WijM. Stiirk, president Texas Memorial j , Stadium ■ Association, the following j ^ statement is made: i ,“The Texas memorial stadium has ! 1 been erected at the University of ; , Texas by popular subscription as a ; memorial to the Texas men and women who served in the World War. This is the first statewide memorial erected to these Texas men and women. In keeping with this idea, suitable memorial tablets are to be erected to the memory of those : Texas men and “women who gave their lives in the service of thedr country.“The family of each Texas man and* woman who paid the supreme sacrifice during the war is now invited to place in the Texas Memorial Stadium a bronze memorial tablet to the memory of this individual.'
