The following letter has been re-tceived by Mrs. C. D- Morgan of Deedsville, Ind., from her son Charles:Camp Mills, N. Y., June 28, 18.Dear Mother:Mother, haven’t received your last j letter, but hope to get it before I i leave.i We were given orders to pack our barracks bags this mornin, so I suppose we will go in a day or so. I am sorry I could not get furlough before we went across. They would not give any so I see now why they did not.I got the money you wired me all right and went to New York city and had a good time. I expect we will go on the ship at night. We won’t get to see much. Mother, don’t worry too much about me, but I know it will be hard for you. I think I will get back safe and I think we will get the kaiser before long, don’t you. Tell Chester I said hello and good bye and that I am going to help get the kaiser. Tell the Kindigs I said hello and goodbye. Tell Mary K. Ihope to get a letter from her beforelong.It is still cold here at night. Have had to put all the covers I could get on to keep warm. We have been getting stuff for two days so I guess we won't get any more.Well, mother, will let you know if I get across all right.
